Avowen is built for conversations people may not share anywhere else. We treat that responsibility seriously.

What we collect

We collect the account information you provide, such as your name and email address; the shared spaces and invitations you create; the answers you choose to submit; and the product activity needed to make questions, reveals, notifications, and subscriptions work.

Unsubmitted answer drafts remain on your device. Avowen does not receive them until you choose to finish your answer.

How your answers work

Your partner cannot read your answer before submitting their own. After the reveal becomes available, access follows the choices and permissions shown in the app. We do not use answer text in notifications, widgets, advertising, or analytics.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, operate your shared space, coordinate questions and reveals, verify subscriptions, deliver notifications you request, protect Avowen from abuse, and understand whether the core ritual is useful.

Avowen does not sell personal information or relationship data. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use your information for third-party advertising.

Service providers

Avowen relies on Cloudflare for application hosting and storage, Apple and Google for optional sign-in, Apple’s App Store and Google Play for purchases, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications when enabled. These providers process limited information needed to deliver their services.

Your choices

You can change notification preferences, leave a shared space, or request account deletion from the app. Account deletion removes identity-owned records through Avowen’s deletion process. Shared history may also involve another person’s rights; we will explain the effect before deletion and handle requests carefully.

Security and retention

We use access controls, server-side authorization, encrypted transport, and store-verified purchases. No service can promise perfect security. We retain information only while needed to provide Avowen, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.
